CAT and Genny Refresher Training

In 2019 over 2500 cable strikes of varying severity were reported in the UK.

In 2020 this figure rose by almost 18.9%, with a further 475 reported strikes. The trend post-Covid-19 is clearly rising.

Although all Twenty Twelve field team members are either NRSWA Operative or Supervisor qualified, it is good to go ‘back to basics’ with periodic refresher training, to reduce the potential for a cable strike injury and becoming another industry related statistic.

Therefore, on 11th April 2023, all field team members undertook refresher training on the use of ‘CAT and Genny’ cable avoidance tools.

Training was provided was provided by ‘The Safetymen’ at their Clacton on Sea premises.

Further, refresher training has been planned in the very near future for ‘Safe Excavation in the Vicinity of Cables’, COP-2.
